I got a picture while in my Fire Ferrets cosplay with Steve Blum who was one of the guests at Anime Expo 2012. He also signed an Amon sketch I did in my black book as well as an awesome print I got from Artist Alley. He was absolutely amazing and seriously very nice. If he hadn’t been cool enough to wait around for an extra three or four hours after his scheduled autograph slot doing practically non-stop signing with his fans, my friends and I never would have made it through that monstrous line. I was nearly crying with joy when I finally got to him—yes, I am that much of a nerd, and while it may sound pathetic, I was so very happy.
There were a lot of things that I wanted to tell him but didn’t since we were pressed for time and I didn’t want to hold up the line any more than I was already. But I wanted to tell him how awesome he was to wait around that long and how much it meant to me and to the other fans I talked to that he actually cares about his fans enough to stay an extra three to four hours on top of everything else he had to do that weekend. I also wanted to tell him that I was really excited he would be lending his voice to the English dub of Tiger & Bunny and that everyone at the T&B panel was seriously sad when he texted one of his voice actor comrades on the panel to tell us he loved us and had wanted to crash the panel but had been delayed by a car accident.
Man, there was just so much…oh well, maybe next time! At the very least, I’ll try to send him fanmail or something.
Thanks to the awesome people we met in line for making the extremely long wait bearable!
This was the only cosplay I managed to finish in time for Anime Expo. I had my nursing state board exams the Thursday before, so I was really pressed for time afterwards.
I didn’t manage to finish the helmet, but people still recognized me quite easily. Thanks to everyone who complimented my cosplay and asked for pictures—it made the con extra special!
